Position Description:
Underbody Systems Integration is a vibrant and exciting place to work. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :-
- Interface between Programme Management and the functional areas.
- Communication of programme specific requirements to the functional areas.
- Agree overall programme requirements&targets with Chassis Engineering functions and the programme.
- Cascade gateway deliverables and support development of work plans accordingly.
- Active participation in all Programme Management meetings, with the ability to represent Chassis Engineering in a transparent and coherent way.
- Plan, coordinate and lead workstreams such as target setting, PPR, sourcing, releasing, AIMs resolution, change management, APQP (not an exhaustive list).
- Facilitate and lead the resolution of all incompatibilities, be they design, cost, weight or attribute driven to ensure robust gateway delivery.
- Understand the relationship between variable cost, investment, weight, quality and attribute performance, and how that fits into the programme priorities. Use this to lead the discussion with D&R Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure your recommendation is efficient and in the interests of the programme, vehicle and customer.
- Lead the Underbody Systems support of prototype and pre-production builds - travel may be required.
- Use the skills of the various Integration specialists in the department, bring them together to help you lead and resolve the items mentioned above.
Skills Required:
- Use your influencing skills to create engagement and active participation from others.
- Take ownership and resolve issues you're presented with autonomously, escalate infrequently and appropriately.
- Ability to represent the department in management level program reviews.
- Tact, diplomacy and perseverance.
- PC literate.
Experience Required:
- Engineering knowledge and Program Management experience must be demonstrable.
Education Required:
- Numerate degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline.
