Cloud Engineer

Job Description:
The Cloud Engineer provides project-based scope, design, and implementation for the Cloud portfolio of products and services offered by Arrow and professional services, they will work closely with services, pre-sales, partners teams, and will participate in the wider Arrow technical community.
This role will focus specifically on the hyper-scale offerings and ecosystem vendors. The candidate will also have successfully designed and deployed multiple Public solutions and is confident with, cloud migration and modern deployment standards.

What Are We Looking For?
  • Hands-on and some pre-sales experience preferred "Azure, Modern Workplace or AWS",
  • Build Scope of Works, High, Low-Level Designs
  • Migration to the Cloud - delivery and project experience
  • Design Landing Zones
  • Design and Build IaaS, PaaS Services, including Backup, Disaster Recovery,
  • Understand sizing and management tools
  • Utilise Modern Deployment Tools "Scripts, Automation" such as ARM, Powershell, Terraform, Ansible or others.
  • Utilise Native Security Tools in the Solution Design
  • Implement Modern Workplace Technologies "Email, One Drive, Teams, Calling Plans"
  • Plan, Design and implement Modern Workplace Migration, optional understanding of Sharepoint technologies
  • Microsoft Identity Services
  • Datacentre, Networking and security knowledge
  • Clear, logical and persuasive communication skills with an ability to work closely with executives and employees at all levels
  • Ability to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Public Cloud across the hyper scalers.
  • A highly entrepreneurial spirit that manifests itself in a "let's make it happen" approach, coupled with initiative and adaptability.


Missions:
  • Go to a technical specialist for sales team and downstream partners on the various Public Cloud platforms like Microsoft and AWS and their associated product portfolio.
  • Deliver projects with skill and composure
  • Work with team to develop propositions for ISV, OT and DevOps communities
  • Design, management & delivery cloud demonstrations and labs.


What You Will Be Doing at Arrow?
  • Establish technical relationships with partners and, on occasion, with end-user organisations as well as key stakeholders like CIO's and IT Managers
  • Review and assure appropriateness and technical integrity of solutions
  • Participate in local and regional seminars, and act as a technical specialist for existing customers.
  • Deliver solution presentations to partners, at vendor events and industry events
  • Advise clients transitioning to cloud-based and managed services
  • Serve as subject matter expert in one or more streams
  • Maintain and keep up to date with Cloud Skills, and Certifications
  • Work in tandem with the various business development and sales teams in fulfilling sales goals and responding to RFI/RFPs.
  • Provide ad-hoc pre-sales technical support to the sales and vendor teams covering specific vendors to be determined in consultation with the Director of Technology and Services.
  • Remain knowledgeable with a strong understanding of current industry technology (specifically in Public Cloud, and DevOps), trends, and the competition.


What is in it For You?
  • Hours of Work: The company's standard hours of work are 9.00 am - 5.30 pm with one hour for lunch, however, due to the nature of this role flexibility will be required in order to meet the needs of the role. In addition, this role is externally facing and therefore there will be the expectation that you will be required to travel upwards of 50% of the time.
  • Permanent contract with 6 months probation period.
