RLE International is working on behalf of their Essex based Automotive OEM Client, who are currently looking for a Control Module Hardware Engineer to join their expanding team within Credit Team.Our client offers a wide range of unique opportunities available to suit some of the best people and brightest minds in the automotive industry.Position description:Core Powertrain Control Module Hardware Engineer An engineering position based at Ford Dunton Technical Centre, UK. Responsibility for development and delivery of powertrain control modules for a number of global vehicle applications.Skills Required:Skills required: Generation and management of component timing plans including deliverables to vehicle development plan Identification of cost reduction opportunities and generation of supporting business case Development and release of application specification and sign off requirements. Development and/or update engineering specifications and system design specifications as required. Review and sign-off of supplier component design failure mode effects analysis. Development, tracking, reporting and sign-off of Powertrain control module design and production verification plans. Generation and delivery of hardware design change requests as required including approval of design change and associated piece price and engineering costs. Development and delivery of component quality improvement plan Ownership of design driven elements of PCM/ECM piece price including development and delivery of design gap road map and complexity/cost trade off. Approval and tracking of supplier recommended engineering actions. Generation of conformance plans for technical or timing non-compliances Generation and communication of component pinout to vehicle teams Lead powertrain control module component level APQP & PPAP activities.Experience RequiredCore electronics design engineer at Tier 1 automotive supplier and/or Automotive OEM experience of managing complex electronics moduleAdditional Information:Positions operate on a full-time basis, over 7 days - 37.5 hour week. Current opening hours are 8.00am-6.00pm Monday-Friday and Saturdays (8.45am- 5.00pm)/Sundays and Bank Holidays (10.00am-4.00pm). Saturdays and Sundays are on a rota bases 12 weekend shifts in a 24 week period; for example in a 24 week period you will be scheduled 8 Saturdays and 4 Sundays; all shift patterns are scheduled by the resourcing team. People working in this area must be, at a minimum, fluent in English. Providing Inter Department Assistance (IDA) support across other departments as and when required to do so (around 1-2 times per week outside of Peak Period).
